BREAKING NEWS:

Malakai has SEVEN teeth! He isn't even 9 months old yet! AND, he knows how to USE them!

Malakai's first Thanksgiving was a sad one, he had RSV; but he's doing great now. He went on his first plane ride and attended his Granddaddy's wedding in Louisiana. Is was a great trip but we are really glad to get home safe! He's also seen his first snow, although he was very sleepy and didn't seem to care what might be falling from the sky. We're looking forward to the Holidays and hopefully moving into our house soon!

New Tooth!

Malakai has 3 teeth now! Right after the first one came in (two weeks later) we had a second. Now he has cut one of his top teeth and the one next to it is very close to coming through! Lots of drool, runny nose, and some diaper rash (that could be from new foods i suppose).
Also today, he got a new walker. I've been hesitant to get him one, but thought it would be fun! So far, he loves the sesame street toys on it, but hasn't figured out that it can move, he does try jumping, which he's used to in the jumping toys.
Malakai is all smiles these days! He's been eating solid (well, semi-solid) foods and I'm still breastfeeding. He love vegetables but won't really eat fruits (fine with me!) He does like chicken, too! He's "talking" too! Loves saying da-da-da, and some ma-ma-ma when he's feeling down. ta-ta-ta is also a favorite, and he's experimenting with a la-la-la and something that sounds alot like sh-sh-ita-ta...if ya know what i mean! His favorite thing is to growl at me and laugh!
He's really, really close to crawling! He likes the army crawl with his arms, and he can push with feet, but not with the belly off the ground or on his knees...but it won't be long! He certainly doesn't stay where I put him anymore!
We're looking forward to the holidays, vacation time at home, and hopefully moving into our very own house!

Sorry I haven't posted anything lately - been busy! Malakai will be 7 months old on Saturday! I can't believe how fast time has gone by. He's starting solid foods now and is trying to crawl. I think it'll be a little while before he "really" crawls, but for now, he's getting pretty far wiggling himself and flopping around, he's moved about 5 feet away from where I left him! I'm gonna need some new running shoes soon, to keep up with him!

What a weekend!

Wow! Traveling with Malakai has been such an adventure. We left late last week headed for my Dad's house for about a week-long visit, it is usually an 8 hour drive for me. Usual isn't usual any longer! Malakai likes to eat about every 2 hours (yes, still...but, hey, he's a growing boy) so about every hour and a half in the car, he's ready to stop. I planned out our journey to stop at just about every town with a mall. I have discovered that Dillard's is the best place to visit since they almost always have a nice big restroom with a powder area supplied with chairs and and very cushy changing table. Also, I like to shop, so it's just perfect! It's much nicer to sit in an air conditioned private restroom to nurse Malakai than trying to do it it public or in the car. So, far, the trip has been a huge success!

Over the last few days, Malakai has discovered his hands, and has started using them! This development is exciting to us both! He can now hold on to a toy and reach and grab for other things too! For a while, he's been able to hang on to my finger, or my shirt, but now he's reaching with purpose and hanging on longer. He amazes me daily!! He's growing and developing so quickly; I can't believe how fast the time goes. I stop all the time, just to be in awe of him; he's a living miracle.
